Electronic Arts revealed during its conference a new IP that is described by the publisher as unique, Unravel. The game is being developed by Coldwood Interactive and will be released digitally on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
In Unravel, players take control of Yarny, a character made from a single thread of yarn. As the player progresses through the game the single thread starts to unravel, which might have influence in the game's gameplay and how to solve puzzles and complete obstacles.
According to Coldwood Interactive, Unravel tells a sad story about reconnecting the memories of a long lost family. For that reason, the story will be told with no words and Yarny represents the bond that ties everything and everyone together.
"I wanted to make something more personal, something with more impact. The game didn't have to change the world, or even try, but it had to be genuine, it had to have a deeper meaning. It had to have heart," said Martin Sahlin, Unravel's creative director.
Electronic Arts didn't announce a release window for the game.
