During an interview that took place last year, co-director of the Kingdom Hearts series Tai Yasue revealed that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX could possibly be released on PS4. However, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has now stated that there are currently no plans to release the remastered versions of Kingdom Hearts on PS4.

"Recently, we also received a significant increase in requests for the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix to be released on the PS4. Unfortunately, we don't have any plans for that," said Nomura in an interview with Ruliweb. Despite the success of the HD collections on PS3, Square Enix doesn't seem interested in releasing them on PS4 like it did with Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, although the fact that all PS4 titles need to be available in digital format, something that didn't happen with the Kingdom Hearts HD collections on PS3 likely due to licensing issues, could possible be the reason for that.
