Electronic Arts has revealed that the Star Wars: Battlefront open beta was a huge success, "the largest beta in the history of EA" with over 9 million players.
"Ever since we revealed Star Wars Battlefront back in April, we knew the beta would be a huge test for our game," said senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir. "After all, the beta has been one of the most talked about topics around the game over the last six months, and it was exciting (and a little nerve racking if I'm being completely honest) to open it up to the world.
"And like Han Solo at the end of A New Hope, we're glad you showed up," she added. "Even more importantly than just showing up, you've been spending a lot of time playing, having a great time and leaving us some invaluable feedback, as we continue to tune and balance the game until launch.
"On behalf of the team at DICE, and everyone at EA, thank you for playing."
Along with this, Electronic Arts has also revealed that the game will have a Season Pass, which will give players access to four major expansion packs. In addition, those that purchase the Season Pass will be able to download each pack two weeks earlier than everybody else, and will also get access to an exclusive 'Shoot First' emote. The Season pass will be available to purchase for $49.99/£39.99/€49.99.
Star Wars Battlefront launches on the 17th of November in North America and on the 20th of November in Europe. In addition to the standard and Deluxe Editions, players will also be able to pick up the Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition for $120. This edition includes the base game, the season pass, and all the content featured in the deluxe edition.
