Earlier this year, Atlus announced they would be re-releasing Odin Sphere on the PS3, PlayStation Vita, and PS3 in an overhauled version of the game, entitled Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. The publisher has announced that they will be releasing a special "Storybook" edition of the game on PS4 alongside launch edition bonuses for all platforms.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is a total overhaul of the original PS2 game. From completely hand-redrawn graphics and refined gameplay mechanics to optimizations for the release consoles, the game fully encapsulates an artfully elegant tale steeped in Norse mythology with all the makings of a tragic opera. The five main characters each traverse their own storylines, be it as friends, lovers, or mortal enemies, punctuated with sharp, precise combat against fantastical enemies and dragons - Odin Sphere Leifthrasir gives players the sensation of playing in a fairytale of Wagnerian proportions as the main characters all vie to regain stability in their world of warring kingdoms.

Besides this being one of the largest special editions Atlus has produced, it will includes the following bonuses:

  • A 64-page hardcover art book, with full color renditions of the glorious Vanillaware art
  • A Potion Recipe t-shirt to remind you of the most basic alchemical recipes
  • A collector's metal slipcase to house the game
  • An art print that will be determined at a later date
  • A premium outer box adorned with the game's artwork

This special "Storybook" edition of the game will be exclusive to the PS4 edition of the game and will be available only in limited quantities for $79.99/CA$99.99. But for all of the non-Storybook edition versions of the game, Atlus will be including a special gift in the form of a softcover version of the 64-page art book package separately, similar to what the publisher did for their release of Dragon's Crown.

More details will be released later, but Atlus has confirmed that the game will be released digitally and physical on the PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita in North America in 2016. As for Europe, there's no details regarding a release in that territory as of yet.
