Earlier this month, Atlus announced they were localizing Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and releasing it in North America. The publisher has now released a new story trailer showcasing some of the story players will find themselves enveloped in when the play through the game later this summer.
Overlapping the story of the original SMTIV, the upcoming game focuses on a Hunter cadet protagonist who gets killed by one of the demons treating post-apocalyptic Tokyo as their personal playground. However, the mysterious god Dagda resurrects the protagonist in exchange for his fealty, and sets him on a perilous path that treads a fine line between peace and anarchy. Is Dagda simply an opportunistic lesser god or is he part of something much bigger?
In addition, Atlus also announced a set of retailer exclusive pre-order bonuses, similar to the promotion carried out for the release of the original title. This time around, players who pre-order from either GameStop/EB Games, Amazon.com/Amazon.ca, or Best Buy will obtain some special stylish DLC armor depending on which retail they pre-order from.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will be available in North America later this summer both physical and digitally for $49.99/CA$64.99. For all pre-orders and launch edition copies of the game, the game will also come with a special metal metal emblem set that literally has the emblems of those paths on them. The pins themselves are metal and are about .75" in diameter each, with a high shine finish. All pre-orders and initial launch copies of the game while supplies last will include them.
