The Pokémon Company has revealed details on Mega Evolutions, new pokemons, gameplay features, as well as screenshots and a video of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. It also announced that a demo will be available on the 18th of October on the Nintendo eShop and the official Nintendo website.

The demo introduces players to the Alola region and includes a special version of Greninja, the Ash-Greninja which appears alongside Ash in Pokémon the Series: XYZ. Those who play the demo will be able to transfer Ash-Greninja to the full game when it releases next month.

The trailer gives you a look at new pokemon, including the evolved forms of the starter pokemon in Pokémon Moon and Pokémon Sun. Dartrix is a grass-flying type pokemon that evolves from Rowlet, while fire type Litten evolves into Torracat, and Brionne is the evolved form of water pokemon Popplio.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, communication features such as battling and trading are all gathered together in Festival Plaza. You can meet Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon players near you and players from around the world who are connected to the Internet. In the Festival Plaza you can interact with other players using a variety of communication features, including battling and trading, shop with Festival Coins and tackle Missions with other players.

There's also a new mode called Poke Pelago. In Poke Pelago, Pokémon that are stored in a PC Box can explore a variety of isles, play on athletic equipment and enjoy other fun activities. If players send many Pokémon to Poke Pelago, they can develop more facilities on the isles and also develop new kinds of isles. As these isles are developed and increase in number, they will allow players to obtain items and even raise Pokémon.

In addition, Mega Evolutions are back in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Mega Evolution allows pokemon to temporarily unleash the power hidden within them, tapping into a strength that would be beyond imagining in regular Evolution. Pokémon which could Mega Evolve in previous games will also be able to do so in the upcoming titles as long as the player is in possession of the proper Mega Stone.

Finally, the Pokémon Global Link will be updated and reopened on the 18th of November, in sync with the launch of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. The website will end its current Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y service, with the update adding several new features. You can check all the details on these features in the Pokémon Sun and Moon website.

Pokémon Sun and Moon releases on Nintendo 3DS on the 18th of November in North America and on the 23rd of November in Europe.
