Deus Ex: Mankind Divided released last year, and despite the favourable reviews, the game's sales numbers left much to be desired. The underwhelming sales combined with Square Enix's newly announced Marvel project may have resulted in a decision to focus on other titles.

The majority Deux Ex studio Eidos Montreal is currently working on the new Tomb Raider game, while Crystal Dynamics is focused on The Avengers title with some help from Eidos Montreal. As a result, Eurogamer reports that the series has been "placed on hiatus".

While we are still working on expanding the Deus Ex Universe, along with creating new content and updates for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, we're also devoting our talents towards working with Crystal Dynamics and Marvel on The Avengers project.

Despite this, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided continues to receive new content and updates. The game's second story DLC pack, A Criminal Past, will release on the 23rd of February on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
