Aksys Games announced Tokyo Xanadu will release for PS Vita both physically and digitally this summer in North America and Europe. An enhanced version of the base game, called Tokyo Xanadu EX+, releases this fall on PS4 and PC.

Tokyo Xanadu, just like its name indicates, takes place in Tokyo. 10 years ago, a colossal earthquake devastated the city and changed the lives of its inhabitants forever. The city has since been rebuilt and life has slowly returned to a semblance of normalcy. However, behind the veil of this newly rebuilt metropolis lies another world, one with a sinister secret. The earthquake that originally destroyed Tokyo was actually caused by the emergence of a mysterious and lethal shadow world known as Eclipse. Now, action must be taken to thwart the legions of Eclipse and ensure the protection of peace.

Offering over 40 hours of gameplay, this action RPG has players quest through Morimiya City and battle hordes of mind bending monsters, and navigate the alternate dimension of Eclipse. Each character possesses unique weapons and skills to battle the monstrosities within this strange realm. You can talk to characters to build relationships and forge alliances, upgrade your equipment, play mini games, explore dungeons and more.

As for Tokyo Xanadu eX+, this enhanced version comes with additional tales of the Wielders that weren’t depicted in the main story, new dungeons and monsters, a new playable character: the White Shroud, and "Time Attack" and "Boss Rush" modes. In Time Attack you have defeat various bosses that appear in the main story as quickly as possible, while in Boss Rush mode you can battle each boss one after the other.

In addition to the standard editions of each game, there's also going to be two limited editions, one for PS4 and one for PS Vita.

The PS4 Limited Edition includes the following:

  • Tokyo Xanadu EX+ Physical Copy (PS4)
  • 9″ Deluxe White Shroud Statue
  • Blade Card Game Deck
  • 60 page Art Book
  • CD Soundtrack
  • Collector’s Box

The contents of the PS Vita Limited Edition are very similar to those of the PS4 edition, with the only difference being that instead of a 9″ Deluxe White Shroud Statue, this edition comes with a 5″ Deluxe Morimaru Plush.
