Analyst: Next Call Of Duty Will Beat Battlefield 3 By 15 Million
PC PS3 X360 0 CommentsThe next Call of Duty game looks set to beat out rival Battlefield 3, according to research data from Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz, who predicts the new Call of Duty game will sell at least 25 million units within its first year of release, 15 million more than the predicted 10 million in sales for Battlefield 3.
The numbers crunched anticipate a good amount of growth for EA's Battlefield series. Bad Company 2, which came out last year, sold roughly 7 million units, 3 million of which came from the US. Rival FPS Call of Duty: Black Ops, however, outsold it by almost double, coming in with 13.7 million in sales as of February - in America alone.
The analyst also predicts 1.5 million units sold for EA and BioWare's upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, which he suspects will land sometime in October this year. Creutz estimates that least 60 percent of that number will become long-term subscribers of the MMO.
