Dead Space 3 Loot Exploit Won't Be Patched, Says EA
PS3 X360 PC 0 CommentsDead Space 3 was only released last week, but an intrepid gamer has already found a way to exploit he game's look system. It allows gamers to farm resources, allowing them to gain items with ease, that others might end up paying real money for through the game's micro-transactions.
It's an exploit that looks set to stay though, as EA has made their stance very clear. Despite the potential for lost revenue, they've stated that the micro-transactions are merely there for convenience and that if gamers wish to use the exploit to farm the items for free, then that's perfectly fine.
"We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game," said Jino Talens from EA. "We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We've deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3)."
If you've purchased Dead Space 3 and are interested in finding out how you can acquire unlimited resources, then here's the video you should be interested in. It was created by GameFront and has already amassed 140,000 views in under a week.
Given the nature of the exploit, it's unlikely that EA intended for gamers to farm resources in this manner, but if they're all for it, then exploit away!
