Nintendo Pushes Wii Owners To Buy A Wii U

Nintendo Pushes Wii Owners To Buy A Wii U If you needed more proof that the Wii U is not living up to sales expectations, then this next bit of news shows that Nintendo is really scrapping the bottom of the marketing barrel. Owners of the original Wii will be greeted by a new message (assuming it is connected online or even on) from the big N them self.

The message is all about telling people what a Wii U is and that they should totally buy one. Normally a company should not ever have to to include a statement like this:

Wii U is an all-new home console from Nintendo. It's not an upgrade-it's an entirely new system..."

This should just go to show that Nintendo has been marketing the Wii U in a way that is not only confusing to the majority of people who bought a Wii, but not working. The lack of games coming to the system isn't helping the system either.

While the system is a nice piece of hardware, Nintendo seems to have gotten themselves in the same position Sony was when the PS3 launch after the massive success of the PS2. Even with all of the amazing games coming to the Wii later on such as Pikmen 3, Bayonetta 2, and a brand new Smash Bros, 3rd parties have not helped fill out the time of this RIDICULOUS launch window.

Yes, you read that right we are still in the launch window, so a system that released in November 2012 has a launch reaching all the way to August for Pikmen 3. Until games start to release and actually convince people that the system is worth picking, no amount of pleading to owners of a console that sold much more than it should have to be frank.

At the very lease you could put a price drop or even better bundles on the system to get more people to buy the Wii U. What would it take for Nintendo to convince you to buy a Wii U as soon as possible? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
