Assassin's Creed Series' Ending Already Planned

Assassin's Creed Series' Ending Already Planned Assassin's Creed is without a doubt one of the most remarkable franchises of this generation, and with so many titles release thus far, some may wonder when will we see the ending of this long and intriguing story. Ubisoft revealed today to Eurogamer that the series' eventual ending is already planned out.

Assassin's Creed 4 director, Ashraf Ismail, said in a conversation with Eurogamer that the team has an idea of how they want the series to end, as well as some details about Assassin's Creed 4. "We have multiple development teams, then we have the brand team that sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series' overall arc. We have an idea of where the end is, what the end is. One advantage of having multiple games in development at the same time is different teams are now able to share notes and include hints at future series entries" said Ismail.

Ismail also says that it was hard to implement naval battles in Assassin's Creed 4, and even though it was a success, it couldn't be added to the multiplayer component. "The biggest cut we made - which we were pushing hard for but we felt we couldn't achieve at a high enough quality - was multiplayer with naval [battles]. We had really cool prototypes but to get it to work and to balance the systems - the balance of naval is tricky - to do that in multiplayer... we just couldn't do it in this iteration."

In addition, some images revealing Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's futuristic era have been released (you can see them below). Ismael said players will play as a research analyst working for the Abstergo Entertainment, and your objective will be to research the life of Edward Kenway using the Animus technology. It was also revealed that modern sections will also contain some sort of online connectivity with other players, although not much more was revealed.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be available on the 29th of October in North America and on the 1st of November in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions following later.
