Sony Patents Universal Controller, Works With PS3, 360, Wii

It has been revealed by the US Patent & Trademark Office that Sony have filed a patent for a universal games controller, which will have a touch-sensitive LCD screen that shows different button layouts. It also has an alphanumeric keyboard.

According to the plans, it could replace the current generation controllers and store up to three button layouts/functionality within its memory. It could also emulate the functionality of older systems, like the SNES, Megadrive or Atari systems. More »

Top 10 Upcoming MMORPGs

MMORPGs have become quite popular over the years, and some, like World of Warcraft have found a place in popular culture. However, that's the now and they won't last forever. We mentioned a fortnight ago, five of the biggest MMORPGs at the moment, but what's around the corner that will be able to dethrone those currently flying high? Should Blizzard be concerned about some of the upcoming titles?

Most of the titles up for discussion in this article are in the late stages of development and are running their beta testing phases. There are quite a few of notable merit and a fair few that are targeting specific niches, for example fanatical sci-fi groups. This is our top ten -- in no particular order -- of the titles we expect to make quite a bit of noise amongst gamers when they finally surface and that MMORPG players should definitely keep on their radar.

Tony Hawk: Ride Xbox 360 Exclusive in UK

Activision has just announced that the upcoming Tony Hawk: Ride will be an exclusive for Microsoft's Xbox 360 in Britain --- other countries in Europe aren't affected by the deal. Just a few weeks ago Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) had stepped in to publish Ghostbusters: The Video Game as a timed exclusive, likely due to issues with Atari's European publishing branch. Atari Pulls Out Of E3 2009

With just three weeks before the start of E3 2009, Atari has announced that they will not be exhibiting at this year's event, only attending. However, Atari is still listed as exhibiting on the official E3 2009 website, both in a meeting room and one of the larger exhibitor halls in the Los Angeles Convention Center. More »
