Metal Gear Solid: Rising Spearheads Konami's TGS Line-up

Konami have confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show. We last saw a trailer of the watermelon dicing action hero at E3 and it's good to know that Raiden will be making an appearance on home turf. No word if the game will be playable. More »

Atlus Dissolved By Parent Company

Atlus' parent company, Index Holdings, has dissolved the the company as an independent company according to their official announcement on Index Holdings website.

Index Holding acquired Atlus in November 2006 in a stock buyout. It is also the owner of game company Interchannel and animation studio Madhouse. It's current goal is to streamline its focus to "profitable core areas." More »

Persona 3 Portable Review

Unlike many of the other genres on the PSP, Japanese RPGs are few and far between. You have mission-based RPGs such as Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, in which the storyline plays a second fiddle to the gameplay. On the other side of the fence are RPGs which try to emulate console RPGs such as Crimson Gem Saga which fail to realize the strengths and weaknesses of the platform they are on. And in the middle are those in-between such as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, which try to meld the two styles together, with all of the strengths and weaknesses combined. While games like the recent Hexyz Force have tried to bring about a true "portable" RPG to the PSP, there still feels like there is something missing. Does Persona 3 Portable, originally a console RPG, succeed - or is it yet another failed attempt at furthering the genre on the PSP? More »
