Why God of War 3 Doesn't Need Aggressive MarketingTue, Mar 9th, 2010, 1:10 pm (EST) BY ADAM MAAs we get closer to the release of God of War III, fans are eating up every bit of information they can get. The men and women at Sony are keeping a tight lid on this one however, with only the occasional trailer here, a screenshot there, and the unveiling of the box set for fans to chew on. That's exactly the way it should be. As a culture we tend to get a little obsessed with how much information we can learn before something even happens, and it's created a lot of false hopes and empty promises. God of War III is better off without it. More » |

Is Halo 3: ODST Really Worth $60?Posted on 2009/09/03 BY DARRYL
Originally titled Halo 3: Recon, Bungie and Microsoft have never denied that the game is essentially an expansion pack for Halo 3. However, when it was initially unveiled it was never meant to be a full-budget title, something that was changed later on. The question is, does the newly named Halo 3: ODST really warrant consumers shelling out $60? |

Jumpgate: Evolution Expanding On The MMO GenrePosted on 2009/06/07 BY ALEXNet Devil and Codemasters are teaming up for a new MMO set in space with Jumpgate: Evolution. The MMO genre is tough enough to break into, especially as there is already a popular game with a similar premise, so how does Jumpgate plan to be different? Instead of using timer-based abilities, the combat system is all twitch-based. This makes battles more focused on player skill rather than gear, although gear, in the form of ships and weaponry, will still play a part in player's power and abilities. Players can switch between roles by changing their ship type, for example switching from a quick, powerful fighter to a slower, tougher mining vessel. More » |

Microsoft E3 Forecast: CloudyPosted on 2009/05/27 BY JAMIE COURTSMicrosoft's E3 2008 line up was easily one of the most surprising of the year, and in comparison to the others, it wiped the floor. That's not really saying much though, considering Sony had a few little announcements with nothing overly shocking, and Nintendo came down to a bunch of sales charts showing profit margins. Microsoft had a large portion of the show dedicated to announcing casual games and showing its "family friendly" side with games such as Lips and You're in the Movies. More » |
