0  EA: Console Price Cuts 'Have A Long Way To Go' Wed, Feb 24th, 2010, 5:17 pm (EST) BY JORDAN DOUGLAS EA's Chief Financial Officer, Eric Brown, has stated his belief that console pricing has "a long way to go" before the end of this console generation. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco, he said, "we do have a long way to go with respect to pricing. Last cycle, approximately 48 percent of PlayStation 2 units were sold at a price point of $149 or less. Clearly at $299 we're nowhere near that price point." More »

3  Sony Patents Universal Controller, Works With PS3, 360, Wii Mon, Feb 22nd, 2010, 8:53 am (EST) BY DARRYL It has been revealed by the US Patent & Trademark Office that Sony have filed a patent for a universal games controller, which will have a touch-sensitive LCD screen that shows different button layouts. It also has an alphanumeric keyboard. According to the plans, it could replace the current generation controllers and store up to three button layouts/functionality within its memory. It could also emulate the functionality of older systems, like the SNES, Megadrive or Atari systems. More »
