Fils-Aime Feels 'Embarrassed' For Sony, Microsoft

Reggie Fils-Aime, President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, has never really been one to mix his words and he's given his honest opinion on both Microsoft's Project Natal and Sony's PlayStation Move in one stinging retort.

When speaking to Kotaku on the subject of Sony and Microsoft playing catch-up, he said "I think we would have been embarrassed to do what our competitors are currently doing." More »

Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid, has stated his belief that Metal Gear Solid: Rising "will create new users." While speaking on twitter, Kojima said "the next MGS... "RISING." this game will create new users, be developed by the new generation, a new MGS." This seems in line with the small bits of information we know about Rising, namely that it will be more of an action-adventure experience. More »

Occasionally, a few of those games creep through the net and score a Western publisher - Way of the Samurai 3 is one such game. It focuses solely on Japanese culture, specifically around the time of the Sengoku period and it encourages players to find their own way through this ancient civilisation, with very little guidance. Sony: 13 Million PS3s Will Be Sold By End Of March

The February NPD sales figures revealed a 31% increase from 2009 for the PS3 and Sony is forecasting that trend to continue through March. Despite recent supply shortages, Sony is predicting PS3 sales in 2010 will hit 13 million by the end of March. Patrick Seybold, Sony Computer Entertainment America Senior Director of Corporate Communications, revealed the company is "tracking to sell 13 million PS3s worldwide by the end of March, which marks a 30 percent increase over last fiscal year." THQ have confirmed, via Joystiq, that the next installment into the Red Faction franchise is planned for release during March 2011 - it initially only had a release window of Fiscal 2011.

THQ's executive VP of Core Games Danny Bilson, also revealed some details about the direction the franchise is now going to take "The new game takes [Red Faction] to a whole new place, it kind of goes back to the old Red Faction because about 80% of it is underground". Definitely some good news, but hopefully the level of destruction isn't compromised as a result. More »
