Voice acting, as defined by Wikipedia, is the act of "providing one's voice to an animated character." Though its origin is unknown it's been safely lodged in the acting world for quite some time now. Disney, as many of you are well aware, has been well known for its animated movies and, more impressively, as a voice acting pioneer. Gran Turismo 5's release date is becoming a bit of a saga, with prospective western release dates coming and going, and in the case of Japan, actual release dates coming and going.

Reggie Fils-Aime, President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, has never really been one to mix his words and he's given his honest opinion on both Microsoft's Project Natal and Sony's PlayStation Move in one stinging retort.

Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid, has stated his belief that Metal Gear Solid: Rising "will create new users." While speaking on twitter, Kojima said "the next MGS... "RISING." this game will create new users, be developed by the new generation, a new MGS." This seems in line with the small bits of information we know about Rising, namely that it will be more of an action-adventure experience. More »

Sony: 13 Million PS3s Will Be Sold By End Of March

The February NPD sales figures revealed a 31% increase from 2009 for the PS3 and Sony is forecasting that trend to continue through March. Despite recent supply shortages, Sony is predicting PS3 sales in 2010 will hit 13 million by the end of March. Patrick Seybold, Sony Computer Entertainment America Senior Director of Corporate Communications, revealed the company is "tracking to sell 13 million PS3s worldwide by the end of March, which marks a 30 percent increase over last fiscal year." As we get closer to the release of God of War III, fans are eating up every bit of information they can get. The men and women at Sony are keeping a tight lid on this one however, with only the occasional trailer here, a screenshot there, and the unveiling of the box set for fans to chew on. That's exactly the way it should be. As a culture we tend to get a little obsessed with how much information we can learn before something even happens, and it's created a lot of false hopes and empty promises. A Japanese retailer is reporting that Sony will be slightly reducing the weight of the PS3 Slim from 3.2kg to 3.0kg, and to accompany this, it will also be changing its model number to CECH-2100A.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed a patent for a new kind of game demo its calling a 'degradable demo'. The degradable demos would allow players to play a game in its entirety for a limited time. After a certain number of hours or plays the demo would slowly start to remove features until the player purchases the game. Degradable demos would allow developers to choose how much of their game is available and when features would be removed. More »

It has been a long time coming, but the day SOCOM fans have been waiting for has finally arrived, today Sony announced the next installment in the SOCOM series, SOCOM 4. According to Jeremy Dunham, Senior Community Manager at Zipper, SOCOM 4 will be hitting store shelves this fall exclusively on PS3. The game has been rumored since SOCOM 3 was released back in 2005, but with the announcements of SOCOM: Confrontation being developed by another studio and the new IP MAG most believed Zipper had left the series behind.
