GamesCom: Seth Killian InterviewThu, Sep 2nd, 2010, 6:10 pm (EST) BY LEE BRADLEYAside from being the Capcom Community Manager, an all-round Street Fighter master and the guy who SFIV's boss was named after, Seth Killian is also one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. It was a pleasure then, to sit down in the relative calm of a hotel room just around the corner from the carnage that was GamesCom and chew the fat about everything from the pains of balancing, to generating "a giant storm of crap." The Best Games Of 2010... So FarFri, Jul 9th, 2010, 9:14 pm (EST) BY ADAM MA
I'll cut straight to the chase on this one, 2010 has had some phenomenal games. Most years start out a little slow and then wind up into a big bang, but honestly it's hard to imagine anything better around the corner aside from a few releases here or there. |

Super Street Fighter IV ReviewFri, Apr 30th, 2010, 8:51 am (EST) BY ADAM MAThe Street Fighter series is usually one that's noted for its love/hate relationship with fighting fans. As there aren't too many fighting games out there, the genre has certainly seen a lot of spotlight, but tends to be criticized harshly for its flaws. Fans will praise the technical skill required to engage in tournament-level play, while those who enjoy games like Blazblue or Capcom Vs series tend to devalue the game based upon its inherently slow and deliberate gameplay. So with this in mind Capcom took a different approach to their beloved franchise, attempting to satisfy both the long-term and hardcore fans while drawing in a new audience that may have never considered the series worthwhile before. Fortunately for them, it worked. More » |

Why Mainstream Gaming Needs Super Street Fighter 4Mon, Apr 19th, 2010, 8:28 pm (EST) BY ADAM MA
Street Fighter is one of the best known and easily identifiable franchises in the gaming industry, let alone for fighting games. It holds history as one of the first major arcade fighting-game successes, has a main character about as identifiable as Mario or Master Chief, and boasts an absolutely terrible movie featuring Raul Julia (who was awesome). It's for all those reasons and more that Super Street Fighter 4 is a necessity for the gaming industry, let alone mainstream gamers. |

Gaming Union covered a keynote speech by Yannis Mallat at DIG London 2009, in which he described how Ubisoft tests to ensure their games thoroughly have the ability to capture an audience before moving into full development. However even once a game has a core mechanic down that doesn't mean it'll be an inherent success. More » |
