Ubisoft Reveals Details About Next Assassin's Creed Title

Ubisoft has today announced that the next Assassin's Creed installment will feature multiplayer. The company, in a call to investors, also revealed that the game would be set in Rome, continuing the story of Assassin's Creed 2 protagonist Ezio. Ubisoft Montreal has simultaneously proved that not only do they have a sense of humour, but they also now have a solid release date for Splinter Cell: Conviction. You'll be able to take Ezio through the "Battle of Forli" on January 28th and it will cost $3.99 USD on PSN and 320 Microsoft points on Xbox Live. More »

Ubisoft: Splinter Cell Conviction Clocks 12-16 Hours

In a Facebook live chat hosted by Ubisoft, Splinter Cell: Conviction Director, Patrick Redding, has given a broad guess at the length of the game. As the game consists of both single player and co-op modes, Redding seemingly guessed that combined the game "should run between 12 and 16 hours." Redding went on to say, "with Deniable Ops, it will be interesting to see how much replay value players get out of it!" More »

Splinter Cell fans will be happy to hear that they can now have their very own Sam Fisher statue as Ubisoft has announced a Limited Collector's Edition of Splinter Cell Conviction. This collector's edition will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PC, which is pretty shocking to hear, since most special editions leave the option of a PC box set out of the equation. More »

Touted as the next blockbuster film to hit theatres, the run up to James Cameron's Avatar has created quite high expectations among movie goers and the media alike. Outside of the big screen, James Cameron's Avatar has also been adapted into a video game by Ubisoft Montreal, aptly named James Cameron's Avatar: The Game. With a premise of humans fighting for an alien planet's resources, surely some sort of quality game could be carved out, yet the stereotype of movie-based video games being of poor quality strikes again, this time with Avatar. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines is the PSP sequel to the third person action-adventure title, Assassin's Creed, that first landed in 2007. Releasing alongside Assassin's Creed 2 for the holiday season, Bloodlines is set to tie together the loose ends of the first game, which ended rather abruptly and did nothing more but set the stage for its predecessor. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in conjunction with developer Griptonite Games, Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines hopes to offer the same non-linear gameplay and open world environments as the first game, but does it hold up to the reputation set by its predecessor? During a keynote presentation at DIG London 2009- a video game developers conference in London, Ontario - Yannis Mallat gave an inside look at the inner workings of Ubisoft Montreal.  The speech covered both the past and the future of the gaming company, and how they will continue to shape the industry, but one point in particular went towards how Ubisoft may be shaping the future of film as well.  Using Assassins Creed: Lineage as the flagship for their success Mallat spoke of the breakthrough of convergence - the next step in reaching a truly immerse gaming experience. Assassin's Creed 2 Receiving Multiple DLC Packs

Ubisoft Montreal has announced that Assassin's Creed 2 will be receiving the downloadable content treatment, with two upcoming DLC installments. Both DLC packs are for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The first DLC pack, called "Battle of Forli", will release sometime in January., but a specific date was not divulged by Ubisoft. The second DLC pack, called "Bonfire of the Vanities", will follow a month later in February. More »
