A Gamer's Holiday Gift Guide - Game List for Girls

We've reached Part 4 of our Gamer’s Holiday Gift Guide and since last time we focused on “guy games”, this time we're focusing on the ladies. Don’t worry; we’re not going to belittle your gals gaming integrity with titles like My Little Pony. We’re bringing out the big boys of 2011.
So if you’re shopping for a certain someone, hopefully something on this list will catch your eye. There is one more list left so be sure to check back.
We hope you enjoy our selections, and if you haven’t yet, check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
1. Catherine (PS3, Xbox 360) - Check it Out!
Although Catherine definitely has a ton of stuff for the guys, it’s all about relationships which is something a lot of gals eat right up. Throughout the title, you’re forced to answer various relationship-related questions which then decide where the main character, Vincent, ends up. By entering into the man’s psyche you may even answer questions about your own relationships in real life. If you want more info on Catherine, check out our review.
2. Skyrim (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - Check it Out!
Although this was also featured on the men’s list, it’s also on the women’s list for significantly different reasons. The story elements in Skyrim and even the customization are enough to make any girl instantly interested. Even the non-gamer girlfriend might change their tune with a game like Skyrim. We even gave the title a perfect score.
3. Dead Island (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - Check it Out!
If the trailer wasn’t enough to keep you gripped, the extensive amount of content and stories will surely grip any female. Once you get over the fact that the zombies in the game are entirely terrifying, the stories are actually really heartfelt including broken families and the unfortunate spread of infection to NPCs you’ve met. For more information on this title, read our review.
4. Uncharted 3 (PS3) - Check it Out!
It’s no question that the Uncharted series is popular for its story as well as its rather attractive main character. Although a lot of the story is recurring throughout the series, it’s very easy to jump into each of the game without playing any of the other titles. We gave Uncharted 3 a 9/10.
5. Mass Effect 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - Check it Out!
Mass Effect certainly has a lot of things going for it. It has a great story, great characters, and decent gameplay. The second installation does take a lot of past elements out, however, it never fails to lose its magic. For girls who are heavily focused on storytelling in games, this game is definitely the one for you. Also, not to mention, female Shepard is definitely the best Shepard.
6. The Sims Medieval (PC) - Check it Out!
For people who are fans of the main Sims titles should definitely check out The Sims Medieval. It offers a unique twist on the traditional Sims experience with the great amount of humor that The Sims is so well known for.
7. From Dust (XBLA, PC) - Check it Out!
From Dust is one of those really amazing games that can grip your attention for hours on end with a ton of fascinating gameplay. The fact that you practically play mother nature in this game makes it one that you definitely don’t want to miss. If you haven’t checked out From Dust yet, you can read more here.
8. Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) - Check it Out!
Unless you know someone who has a 3DS and is allergic to fun, this may be one of the staple gifts of this holiday season. Always the solid platform series Mario 3D Land cleverly navigates the unique capabilities of the 3DS with gameplay mechanics new and old. A great mix of everything that's made Mario so iconic anyone into the fancy handheld should be quite satisfied unwrapping this hit.
9. L.A. Noire (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - Check it Out!
If the dramatics are more your girl’s scene, definitely pick up a copy of L.A. Noire. The story is extremely entertaining and filled with twists and turns just like the movies. If you’re still unsure about this one though, definitely read our review.
10. Hyperdimension Neptunia (PS3) - Check it Out!
Hyperdimension Neptunia is an ode to all things games and there’s no better way to celebrate this generation of consoles. This RPG follows the story of four regions: Planeptune, Lastation, Lowee, and Leanbox which share a central building known as the Basilicom. Follow the life of a goddess named Neptune as she works her way through the Console Wars. We gave this title a 7/10.
