AdhocParty For PSP Launches In North America

It is inconvenient when great multiplayer PSP games are limited to only local, adhoc, multiplayer. Sony today has released an application for the PS3 that takes that inconvenient situations, and gives it a somewhat inconvenient solution, and it's called adhocParty, as you may have heard.

In broad strokes, how it works is the application runs only on the PS3, and when active, PSP gamers can use their PS3 as an internet bridge. They can connect their local-multiplayer PSP games wirelessly to the PS3, and through the internet connect to another PS3 that is connected with another PSP running the same multiplay game, effectively taking the local-multiplayer game online. The PlayStation Blog has just so happened to release a launch video for the new feature, which you can check out below.
