Anonymous Threatens Sony For Supporting SOPA

Sony and PlayStation Network may suffer yet another attack from internet rights activists Anonymous after the electronic company pledged support for the Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA for short.

The bill states that it protects intellectual property and strengthens copyright laws. In its current form, however, opponents argue that it infringes on First Amendment rights and will effectively paralyze the internet. Should the bill be passed, it will authorize the US Department of Justice to take action against websites outside US jurisdiction that infringe on copyright laws.

Perhaps it's a bit of deja vu, but the PlayStation Network already suffered an attack from Anonymous earlier this year, resulting in a month-long blackout. Anonymous released a video statement calling out Sony and other supporters of the bill, including the terrifying Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian. Oh, and Taylor Swift.

You can read the bill here and learn more about it over at AmericanCensorship.org.
