Assassin's Creed 2 Denied Public Demo

Revealed today at the Eurogamer Expo, the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 2 will not see a pre-launch demo, if at all. Speaking with a reporter from ConnectedConsoles.com, a Ubisoft representative exhibiting Assassin's Creed 2 confirmed that there will be no demo for the game, when asked.
The original Assassin's Creed relied on its very successful marketing campaign, alongside previews and the sort, to pump up the hype for Assassin's Creed. Not having a demo with the first iteration of the series certainly didn't damage its sales in the least, as the original game went to become the fastest selling new IP, a title that the original game still holds today.
No reason was given by Ubisoft as to why they have decided against releasing a demo. With reception among the press being favourable, a demo likely wouldn't hurt Assassin's Creed 2's momentum, yet for whatever reason Ubisoft may just think otherwise.
