Assassin's Creed Creator Patrice Desilets Returns To Ubisoft

Ubisoft has announced that Patrice Desilets, who left the company in 2010, has returned following the acquisition of THQ Montreal.

After being a prominent member of the Prince of Persia team and subsequently creating the Assassin's Creed franchise, Desilets decided to leave Ubisoft in 2010. He was then hired by THQ to head up their ambitious studio in Montreal. However, following the collapse of THQ, Ubisoft acquired THQ Montreal.

It was at this point that rumours were abuzz about the future of Desilets as there no statements from either Desilets, THQ or Ubisoft. However, Ubisoft has now broken that deadlock and released a statement saying:

"We are very pleased to welcome Patrice to Ubisoft again and anticipate that this renewed partnership will produce new ideas and high-quality titles for Ubisoft's customers."

It's still unclear what Desilets' role will be within Ubisoft. At THQ Montreal, he was working on a project that had been codenamed 1666.
