Atari Pulls Out Of E3 2009

With just three weeks before the start of E3 2009, Atari has announced that they will not be exhibiting at this year's event, only attending. However, Atari is still listed as exhibiting on the official E3 2009 website, both in a meeting room and one of the larger exhibitor halls in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Atari has yet to comment officially on the sudden turn of events, only referring to their original statement which was sent to Joystiq,

Atari has made the proactive decision to attend but not exhibit at this year's E3 event. Although we feel E3 benefits the entire games business, we are very focused around other selling and marketing initiatives for our upcoming Ghostbusters, Champions Online and other to be announced titles.

Ghostbusters was recently revealed to be antimed PlayStation exclusive in Europe. Champions Online is from the developers of City of Heroes and City of Villains, and is based on the Champions license.
