Atlus Announces Metal Slug XX for PSP

Atlus has announced that they will be publishing SNK Playmore's Metal Slug XX this February for the PlayStation Portable. Previously, Ignition Entertainment had worked with SNK Playmore in bringing over their titles to the West.

Metal Slug XX follows the same well-loved formula of previous titles in the series, namely over-the-top action and cartoon mayhem. As with other titles in the series, you can either go it alone or play with a friend in co-op gameplay via ad-hoc mode. For the veterans of the series, over 70 challenging missions are available in the game's "Combat School" mode. After the game's release, a seventh additional character will also be available via DLC on the PlayStation Network, complete with their own special unique abilities.

The game is set to be released on February 23rd, 2010. The press release only mentions a UMD release of the game, but it is expected a PlayStation Network release is also going to be available according to Atlus's recent releases on the handheld.
