Boon: Mortal Kombat Reboot Is Fan Service
Mortal Kombat is set to be released next April, and series mastermind Ed Boon has explained that the reboot is meant to be pure fan service, a move which he hopes will make long-time followers rather happy.
Speaking to 1Up, Boon referred to the game as a cross between the older games, saying "it's very much giving the Mortal Kombat fans the Mortal Kombat they've been asking for."
Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 are arguably the best in the series, so if they can truly bring that experience to the next-gen systems, we could be in for a real treat.
