Bungie: New Engine In Development For Activision Title

Halo Reach has been finally released. It's supposedly Bungie's last Halo game, but not their last game at all. In fact, Bungie's working on a game for Activision and according to an interview with Develop, they're making a brand new engine.
Bungie's communication manager Brian Jarrard affirmed that the studio is against licensing technology for future games.
"I think it goes hand-in-hand with our independent spriti," says Jarrard. "Just like we don't want to develop a game of someone else's IP, we want to push our own technology in the same way. That's going to be our position for the foreseeable future."
Jarrard adds, "…[The new engine is] actually in development, so I would say it's in a stage where, technically we're still at the end of a preproduction mode.
Bungie announced their new ten-year partnership with Activision in April. There have been no details about their current project.
