Capcom Blame Poor Street Fighter x Tekken Sales On Cannibalism

Capcom has released a statement declaring that sales of its recent Street Fighter x Tekken fighting cross-over weren't up to what it expected.

So far, Street Fighter x Tekken has managed to sell 1.4 million copies worldwide since its March release, but Capcom stated the figures "have fallen short of our plan."

Capcom used cannibalism to explain the poor sales. "We believe one of causes is cannibalism because of the large number of other games in this genre that were launched within a short time."

The poor sales, by their own standards, could lead to Capcom revising their future releases into the fighting genre. Could this see the rumoured Darkstalkers release getting canned?
