Dead Space 2 Announced for Xbox 360 and PS3

Horror in zero-gravity will be returning to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, likely in 2010, in the form of Dead Space 2. Confirmed Monday by EA, Viseral Games is hard a work on the sequel to the 2008 hit, emphasizing in the announcement that lead character Isaac Clarke will this time be taking the fight to the Necromorphs. Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, Steve Papoutsis, spoke about the announcement,
We're thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac's journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.
For the franchise's sake, hopefully Dead Space 2 succeeds like the original, as Dead Space Extraction's sales bombed on the Wii they likely have quite the margin to recoup.
