Nintendo 3DS Announced

Nintendo have just announced the successor to the DS, the 3DS. The new portable game machine will feature 3D gameplay without the need to wear 3D glasses. The company also revealed that it will be backwards compatible with all previous DS iterations and will be released before March 2011, at least in Japan. No other details are known at this early stage.

Nintendo launched the original DS in 2004, it has since gone on to sell more than 125 million units worldwide as of December 2009. The latest DS iteration, the DSi XL, will be released in North America on March 28th. More »
