Developers Detail Dead Space 2, Multiplayer Affirmative

Dead Space 2 was only announced by EA this past Monday, but already the developers are divulging a number of details about the game to get the marketing train up to speed. Featured in the new issue of GameInformer, this time around the developers of Dead Space 2 are focused on pacing the game better, and pushing the horror in the game farther. In terms of lead character Isaac, it sounds like he'll be fairly fleshed out this time around, no pun intended, as he'll actually speak.

Isaac can also float around in Zero Gravity now and change direction while firing. Not much detail was given, but the game will feature multiplayer, with lots of kind hearted dismembering of friends online. Speaking in GameInformer about Sprawl, that game's new locale, they said,

[Sprawl is an] organic, haphazardly constructed, long-term place that’s built around the remaining shards of one of Saturn’s moon-The first planet-crack ever. Like any real city it is not all built by one person. Some stuff was built up, and some areas, corporate areas, government areas, and public areas.

As for the size of the environment, it supposedly dwarfs the original's Ishimura. No release date has been given for the title still, but don't be surprised if it's announced for next Fall.

I so need to go back and finish the original! Then play the Wii version that I played 5 minutes of and was TOTALLY stunned that it was a Wii game! Has the potential to be a stunning series!
