Dragon Quest IX Ships Over 5.3 Million Units
Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest IX has become the best selling game in the series' history, as more than 5.3 million copies of the title have been shipped worldwide.
Dragon Quest has traditionally struggled to perform overseas, but Square Enix recruited Nintendo to help them sell the title to North American and European gamers - a decision that worked out rather well for both publishers.
No other title in Dragon Quest's history has shipped over 5 million units. Dragon Quest X has been in development for the Nintendo Wii for quite some time, hopefully the franchise can continue to grow.
