EA To Limit All Star Wars: The Old Republic Sales At Launch
EA and BioWare have revealed that all sales, both digital and retail, for upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic will be limited in order to prevent server strains in hopes of a smooth launch.
The announcement was made a gamescom where EA said they would rather limit the number of sales for the sake of a smooth launch than sell as many as possible and have fans suffer the pains of lag, disconnects and unstable servers.
Both retail and digital purchases will be limited by the number, although EA would not share what number that was. The game still doesn't have an official release date despite EA pushing a 2011 release.
