Forza 3 Was 'Definitive'...For a Day

It was stated in Microsoft's E3 2009 press conference that Forza 3 will be the 'definitive racing game of this generation', and for a brief moment in time their claims were actually true; no other racing game this generation really come close to their game. However, the guys over at Polyphony Digital didn't let them bathe in their glory for long as Gran Turismo 5 came out with some nice subtle announcements at Sony's Press Conference.
The first of which was the NASCAR licence, which is huge. It could effectively negate the reason to even buy the NASCAR games and likewise for the WRC titles. It also means there could be a host of licenced tracks and cars appearing in the game, which will be a huge draw.
Aside from that though, it's difficult to tell how much content will actually be packed in to Gran Turismo 5. However, the games usually add more, not less, and if Gran Turismo Portable is an indication of the amount of content going to be found in Gran Turismo 5, then there could be an overwhelming amount of cars available.
Not to take away from Forza 3, it will still be a good game in its own right. However, based on what's been seen of the two games, Gran Turismo is still the grand master; Forza still has some catching up to do.
