GOTY 2011: Best Publisher Award

GOTY 2011: Best Publisher Award

We're here, it's the 31st of December, 2011 and it's time for our Game of the Year awards! First up is Publisher of the Year, which was a pretty competitive award this time around.

10 companies rose above the rest this year, and published high-quality games on a consistent basis. Here they are:

Namco Bandai
Square Enix
Electronic Arts
Sony Computer Entertainment
NIS America
Ubisoft
Warner Bros. Interactive
Bethesda Softworks
Nintendo
Microsoft

And the winner of Best Publisher 2011 is..... Sony Computer Entertainment!

Other companies may have had strong years, but Sony Computer Entertainment pulled out all the stops again this year, despite some of their biggest titles even being delayed!

The year started off with LittleBigPlanet 2 and DC Universe Online (Sony Online Entertainment), then moved on to Killzone 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse, SOCOM 4 and inFamous 2.

But that's not all, despite releasing a plethora of big budget games in the first half of the year, Sony then released Resistance 3, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception to close the year out.

Despite other publishers having solid years, the majority of them only had one or two stand-out titles. Sony had way more and that's why they were award publisher of the year by GamingUnion.net's editorial staff.
