GU's Comments Of The Week - 29th August

It's no secret that here at Gaming Union, our Community may be a tiny bit biased towards Square Enix. After all, two of our main sister sites are Final Fantasy Union and Kingdom Hearts Union, so it should be no surprise that the amount of posts on stories about those series' should be sky high!
The new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 was no exception to this rule, especially when it showed a flying boomerang and a split second of the kid some love to hate; Hope. The responses were a mixed bag, so let's see what we've got:
thefenrir: "Why is Hope still using that damn-ugly boomerang!?"
Varnis: "Hope is back and there is NOTHING any of you haters can do about it"
Lexincora: "Great Trailer! I'm part of the small minority that loves Hope to death and doesn't mind Snow very much at all. I'm relieved that Hope's coming back, I was kinda worried he wouldn't."
I don't think we could've hoped (oh ho! Hope-d!) for a much more mixed response than that, and honestly it was a lot tamer than the amount of abuse the poor kid got when the first game was released.
However, there was even more controversy from that very same trailer, when Serah was shown holding up her engagement necklace and referred to a promise from an old friend, causing fans to simultanously kick into theory mode or wail sorrowfully over the fact that Snow may be no more:
akisura12: "Aw, Snow can't die...He's invincible...Steelgaurd makes it so. XD Though if Snow was dead, that would make sense; though it'd be weird, if Serah was calling her dead fiance a "good friend"..."
missylovely: "Snow would be rolling in his grave if he was dead. I mean, he goes through hell in the first game just to save her and she just calls him a good friend >.>"
FFXLOVER: "Does this mean there's a possibility between Sarah and Noel?? XD"
Ah. Nothing like a good dose of speculation in order to hype up excitement for the game. Threads for all these comments were on both Gaming Union & Final Fantasy Union.
And that's all we've got time for in this Final Fantasy Themed Comments of the Week article! The strength and quantity of reaction of the community should never be doubted, so please don't hold back and keep all your speculations and character fan support coming in!
