Hashimoto: We Welcome Devil May Cry Comparisons
Bayonetta is an upcoming third-person action game that's being published by SEGA. However, the producer on the project, Yusuke Hashimoto has a history with Capcom and he is aware that his development team were responsible for the Devil May Cry franchise.
Obviously comparisons have been made, as the gameplay is quite similar in both the titles, but Hashimoto isn't concerned and actually welcomes them:
We aren't really concerned about it, we actually welcome the comparisons that are made. We're quite confident that when a player actually plays the game they'll see the difference. Only the gameplay itself is going to be main relation between Devil May Cry and Bayonetta.
An interesting stance, but an understandable one, Bayonetta certainly looks to have an interesting story though.
The game is scheduled to come out in 2010 on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
