Hideo Kojima Describes Project Ogre As Open-World

Project Ogre is Hideo Kojima's current ongoing project. You know, the one that utilizes the new FOX Engine, the one he's been sharing plenty of images of over Twitter. Kojima recently touched on the project in an interview with CNN, describing the game as being set in a very open world.

"The kind of game I'm making is some game that has a very wide entrance, a very open entrance," he said. "Rather than making something very cinematic, [I plan to] make something very free."

Metal Gear fans will know that this is quite a departure from previous titles, which have been a largely linear and cinematic affair. Kojima notes that players will be able to explore the world freely and continue to experience new adventures even after investing 100 hours into the game, similar to other open-world contemporaries such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

In another interview with UK's Official PlayStation Magazine, Kojima described Project Ogre's tone as "a very subdued experience" compared to what Metal Gear Solid fans are used to. Furthermore, he added that while it may look similar initially, "once you get into it, it will be a different experience."

The game will not be completed for some time, but he assures fans that he will continue to produce games in the meantime. The controversial Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is his latest collaboration with PlatinumGames.
