inFamous Release Date Moved Forward
Previously set to be released at some point in June of 2009, inFamous was going to go head to head with Radical Entertainment's Prototype. However, Sony and Sucker Punch have decided to move inFamous' release date forward a couple of weeks into May.
This doesn't usually happen in the gaming industry and there is of course still plenty of time for things to change. However, in a post earlier on the Official Playstation Blog, Asad Qizilbash, the Marketing Manager for SCEA had the following to say:
Many of you may be wondering when we plan to announce the release date for inFamous. Well today, we have a little surprise for you... the release month is no longer June. Now wait, I know what you're thinking... inFamous is NOT delayed, in fact, the guys up at Sucker Punch have been working so hard that the game will be releasing in the U.S. on May 26!
Obviously this is just the release date for North America and there has been no word so far about inFamous' release date in Europe. When the news is announced, we'll be sure to let you know, but for the time being expect the game in June in Europe.
