Kaz Hirai Goes Rogue, Kickstarts Riiidge Racer Film

Breaking news. Sony PlayStation's Kazuo "Kaz" Hirai has reportedly broken off from the electronics company to kickstart his own film based on popular drift-racing game Ridge Racer.
The PlayStation boss, most well known for his infamous introductory words "Riiidge Racer! It's Ridge Racer!" has launched a Kickstarter campaign, much like Double Fine's Tim Schafer has with the studio's latest project.
The Kickstarter project, aptly named Riiidge Racer has listed a pledged goal of $17 of the American kind. A number of the top backers include Ken Kutaragi, most notably known as the father of PlayStation, Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer, PlayStation's Shuhei Yoshida and a number of Namco Bandai executives.
The latest iteration of the racing series just hit stores early last week. Dubbed Ridge Racer: Unbounded, it took the arcade-racing experience to a whole new level with fully destructible vehicles and environments.
