Kitase: DLC Coming To Final Fantasy XIII

It seems that in an ironic twist of fate, Final Fantasy XIII will be receiving the downloadable content treatment. There have been several times when Square-Enix were asked about the possibility of DLC being released for the game, but each time the publisher stated that there was none planned. However, earlier last year, Yoshinori Kitase mentioned that the option was being explored.
Now, it seems as though it's effectively been confirmed, as when speaking to OPM, Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy XIII said,
We initially had doubts to add extra content to the western version but then it would have taken the international version more months of delay. We did prepare a DLC but it will arrive a little later in the west.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of content Square-Enix develops to expand the Final Fantasy XIII universe. Final Fantasy XIII hits western shores on March 9 this year.
