Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII OST Appears Early On iTunes

Months before its February release, the original soundtrack for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has appeared on the iTunes store. While not all gamers welcome spoilers, by looking at the OST it can be guessed just what kind of events will take place in the conclusion to Lightning's epic saga.

One of the first details to notice about the soundtrack for Lightning Returns is its release date. The release date on its iTunes page happens to be November 21, 2013, the same date as the Japanese release the corresponding game. This might suggest that either the album was accidently released on the wrong iTunes stores or that Square Enix is really trying to build up more hype for the game.

Another detail to consider is number of songs on the soundtrack. Totaling at 74 tracks, this makes the Lighting Returns the shortest soundtrack of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. Of those 74 tracks, three of them are only obtainable by buying the entire album. These three songs are titled "Almighty Bhunivelze," "Humanity's Tale," and "Credits - Light Eternal." Also to note are four brand new Chocobo tracks which are titled "Bluesy Chocobo," "Chocobo Returns," "Marimba de Chocobo," and "Chocobo Carnival."

Music lovers of the trio Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, and Mitsuto Suzuki can pick up Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII OST on iTunes for $24.99/£17.99.
