Is anticipation for Assassin's Creed 2 killing you, or to a lesser extent, making you grind your teeth? While the game is due out in only a matter of days and promotion for it is almost ridiculously high, Ubisoft has also hosted a short film contest themed around Assassin's Creed that just might ease the wait.

Assassin's Creed: Generations, a name that could easily fit into the series, is one of the contest entries, and an astounding one at that. Ubisoft created their own Assassin's Creed: Lineage short film series, and if you liked those, Assassin's Creed: Generations will be right up your alley. The winners will be revealed tomorrow, but don't be surprised if Assassin's Creed: Generations takes the $10,000 grand prize. We caught up with the director of the short film, Tom Quigley.

GamingUnion.net: What's the anticipation doing to you? Be honest!

Quigley: Well, it's not being very kind, that's for sure!  I'm certainly very excited about the game, I have been since the end credits of the first one!  As for the contest, anticipation's been mounting exponentially; so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if I exploded by the time they announce the winners.

GamingUnion.net: What makes your film a serious contender in the competition?

Quigley: Well, honestly it all comes down to what the judges like and what they want.  We worked hard to make the piece at a professional level, and really tie the story in with the games.  So hopefully that's what they're looking for!

Assassin's Creed: Generation also stars a professional free runner for some real assassin authenticity. Check out the video below, and if you like it, leave Quigley a comment here, or on Youtube. You can also catch up with more Quigley-made films on his website.
