Lionel Messi Becomes Global Face Of FIFA
EA Sports has announced the signing of Barcelona's star player, Lionel Messi, as their new EA Sports Football Ambassador. His first title will be next year's FIFA Street revival.
Up until now, Messi has been the face of Pro Evolution Soccer, FIFA's huge rival. His defection to FIFA will be a bitter blow for Konami, as they were already on the back foot.
"I want to be part of the team behind the best sports football game in the world and be associated with the great EA Sports name," said Messi.
As part of the deal, EA Sports will also help the Leo Messi Foundation, which helps to support social, educational and health care related initiatives around the world.
