Mass Effect 2 Receiving Simultaneous Release

Mass Effect 2 Receiving Simultaneous Release

When Mass Effect came out, initially it could only be enjoyed by players on the Xbox 360. It took over 6 months for it to then appear on the PC and this is something that is looking to be corrected when Mass Effect 2 is released.

Speaking at GamesCom 2009, Jesse Houston, the Associate Producer of Mass Effect 2, outlined what they learnt the first time around and what they're aiming to achieve when the game ships,

We learned a lot from building the PC version before, and having built it six months later there was a big difference. So we actually took what we learned from PC and put it back into 360. This time round, doing it at the same time for a sim-ship, we can control the differences much more smoothly because it's the same team building it now.

Definitely good news for PC gamers, as they'll be able to enjoy Mass Effect 2 at the same time as those on the Xbox 360 when the game is shipped in Q1 2010.
