Microsoft: Blu-Ray Accessories Coming Soon For Xbox 360
The battle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray ended quite a while ago now, but the repercussions for Microsoft are still not completely gone. Website Gizmodo had an exclusive interview with Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer where they asked him for his opinions on the stance with Blu-ray and the XBox 360.
Aside from talking about the fact that they are taking more of a keen interest in on-demand movies, through either streaming or downloading. He also commented:
Well I don't know if we need to put Blu-ray in there-you'll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories.
A slightly unusual comment to make, especially since the current stance of Microsoft reflects using streaming technology and the acquisition of Zune Video for the XBox 360 in Fall for HD quality viewing.
