Modern Warfare 2 Single Player Campaign Will Be Short And Sweet

In an interview with IGN, Robert Bowling from Infinity Ward commented on the overall length of the single player experience found in their upcoming game, Modern Warfare 2. Those that played Modern Warfare will know the campaign wasn't particularly lengthy, and some were hoping that this would be addressed in the next installment. However, this doesn't appear to be the case.
Robert Bowling made a steadfast defence in their choice to not push for a much longer campaign by saying:
We never go into development saying 'We're going to make a 20 hour game because people want a 20 hour game' - we want to deliver an intense experience where you walk away and go 'wow, I want to play more,'
He also pointed out there is now the addition of Special Ops mode, which allows players to do some of the single player campaign with multiple people. They obviously feel this is more important than a strong single player campaign, as even now people are still playing the original online.
It's fairly safe to say that Modern Warfare was always going to be a multiplayer focused experience, but some people also look for a strong single player experience. Hopefully it still delivers.
