New Super Mario Bros. Wii Passes 10 Million Units Sold

Despite only being on store shelves for around eight weeks, New Super Mario Bros. Wii for the Nintendo Wii has managed to sell over 10 million copies according to Japanese website Nikkei Net.

This officially makes New Super Mario Bros. Wii the fastest selling single-platform title in history and what's extremely positive for Nintendo is that the sales-split is actually quite even. 4.5 million copies were sold in North America, and 3 million have been sold in both Europe and Japan.

As the title has only been out for such a short time, and given how Wii first-party titles usually perform, expect this number to continue to rise significantly throughout the next year.
